Top 3 Tips to Finally Release Emotional Eating

emotional eatingDo you want to stop your emotional eating, to change your relationship to food? To stop feeling bad about your lack of willpower or self control? Tired of ‘I’ll just have one biscuit’ turning into eating the whole box?

I know the feeling, from personal experience. All that time in my life spent debating whether I should go to Tesco because they’ll have Lindt chocolate or to Sainsbury’s for the chocolate shortbread in-store bakery cookies. And sometimes ending up with both!

Whatever your particular ‘sins’, don’t you wish you could just forget about it, eat healthily, and enjoy doing so?

How to Release Emotional Eating

Due to my struggles with food, I went into therapy. First as a client, later as a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and advanced tapping practitioner (among other qualifications). And even then it took me decades before I found the puzzle piece I needed to finally stop emotionally overeating.

Now, the puzzle piece you need may be a different one to the last one I found. Still, my decades of training and experience have let me pull together different strands and condense them down to three main elements. I share these in a 90 minute online course, which I am offering free-of-charge to anyone who wants to release themselves from cravings, guilt and shame.

One reason I’m offering this course free of charge is that I really want anyone who needs this knowledge and these tools to have access to them. I know firsthand the torment of feeling a slave to cravings.

Another reason is so that anyone who wants can get a really good feel for what I have to offer here. Because I am also about to launch a longer, paid-for course. Before anyone signs up for that, I want them to be able to fully and honestly assess what they’ll be paying for: to get a feel for the kind of information and tools I’ll be sharing, and to experience the transformative power of the meditations and techniques.

Like I said before, I spent decades in therapy to achieve these results. So, what makes me think that you can gain the benefits in so much less time?

Tools and Techniques to Release Emotional Eating

Firstly, it’s because I’m distilling down all that experience and training, and sharing them in bite-sized chunks, with lots of experiential meditations. So you don’t have to learn how to apply these techniques, you just listen and experience the effects.

Secondly, these techniques include somatic, psychosensory elements.

What that means is that this isn’t just talk therapy. You will be creating change at a physiological, hormonal level, and you will also be rewiring your brain. Talk therapy is amazing for the insight you can gain, and adding these somatic and psychosensory aspects means you are also shifting your bodily experience and changing your very thought processes.

Reduction in emotional eating with tappingFor example, breathing techniques create a greater state of calm in the body, helping move it into a rest-and-digest state. Tapping has been shown to significantly lower levels of cortisol, one of the main hormones connected to stress. Tapping also actually rewires your neural networks! I talk about that, including brain scan images, in the workshop: it’s amazing we can now see the profound effects that can be achieved.
